MELBOURNE - Sep 5/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time Renewal Minor Flood Warning for the Severn River at Ashford. Renewal Minor Flood Warning for the Castlereagh River at Mendooran. Renewal Minor Flood Warning for the Bell River at Wellington. Renewal Minor Flood Warning for Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai and Wagga Wagga. Preliminary Minor To Moderate Flood Warning for the Murray River Downstream Of Hume Dam. Preliminary Minor Flood Warning for Belubula River at Canowindra. Moderate Flood Warning for the Murray River upstream of Lake Hume. Flood Watch for the Murray River at Corowa and Yarrawonga. Strong wind warning for New South Wales waters between Seal Rocks and Gabo Island. Weather Situation A deep low pressure system southeast of Tasmania is moving rapidly towards New Zealand and as the result winds over southeastern New South Wales are easing and the rain has contracted to the far north coast. Isolated showers will continue in the south on Monday as an upper trough moves through while strengthening high pressure ridge will bring mostly sunny conditions to the remainder. On Tuesday a high will move over the Tasman Sea extending the ridge to the northwest of the state and bringing coastal showers within onshore airstream. During Thursday and Friday a cold front preceded by is expected to move across most of the districts. Forecast for the rest of Sunday Rain on the far north coast clearing. Isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges with snow showers on the Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Fresh to strong westerly winds easing. Forecast for Monday Isolated showers in the southern inland possibly extending to the south coast later. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to southwest winds. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers about the coast and adjacent and on the Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds tending east to northeast in the west. Forecast for Wednesday Isolated showers on the north and central coasts, contracting northwards. Patchy rain developing in the far west later. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds tending north to northwest in the west. Forecast for Thursday Rain areas in the west extending to the slopes and ranges and possibly to the central south coasts later.
