Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 4/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Forecast for the rest of SaturdayWidespread rain with heavy falls about the northeast. Scattered showers over the remainder with isolated thunderstorms. Strong and gusty northerly winds, reaching gale force in elevated areas then turning squally westerly in the west this evening. Westerly gales spreading along the coast at night.
Forecast for SundayEarly rain in the northeast, locally heavy and easing to showers. Scattered showers in remaining southern and mountain areas but showers becoming isolated over the northern plains. Snow above 1400 metres. Cool to cold with a strong and gusty northwest to westerly wind, gale force about the central and Gippsland coast but easing during the day and tending southwesterly in the west.
Forecast for MondayIsolated showers, scattered at times in the east and falling as snow above 1200 metres. Cool to cold with a moderate south to southwesterly wind.
Forecast for TuesdayIsolated showers in Gippsland, clearing. Morning frost and fog patches elsewhere then mostly sunny. Cool with light winds.
Forecast for WednesdayEarly fog and frost patches in the east. Patchy rain enetering the west late in the day. Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Sunday.* Calls to 1300 numbers cost around 27.5c incl. GST, higher from mobiles or public phones.
