Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 29/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high pressure system over New South Wales will gradually move northeast to be
over the Coral Sea on Wednesday, maintaining fine and mostly sunny conditions
over most of the state. Meanwhile, a frontal system approaches from the west,
which is expected to bring generally light rain along the southern border on
Wednesday. This will mostly clear on Thursday, but some isolated showers are
expected over the northeastern quarter. Along the western border patchy rain
will develop later ahead of a deepening trough over inland Australia. By Friday
a low is expected to develop over South Australia within this trough, which
should move across Victoria during the weekend, bringing rain to much of the
state.
Forecast for Monday
Chance of a shower on the north coastal fringe. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
Northeast to southeasterly winds along the coast, tending light and variable
inland.
Forecast for Tuesday
Mostly sunny at first, but cloud increasing in the south later. Early frost on
the slopes and ranges. Northeast to northwesterly winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
Cloudy in the south with generally light rain developing along the southern
border districts,  and falling as snow on the Alps. Mostly sunny and warm in the
north. Freshening north to northwest winds, becoming locally strong about the
southern ranges ahead of  a  south to southwest change in the south.
Forecast for Thursday
Mostly sunny in the north. Patchy rain or isolated showers generally clearing in
the south, but patchy rain developing later along the western border. Isolated
showers developing over the northeastern quarter. Warm north to northwest winds
in the north at first ahead of cooler southwest to southeast winds extending
throughout northeast by midnight
