MELBOURNE - Aug 29/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A high pressure system over New South Wales will gradually move towards the Coral Sea from now until Wednesday, maintaining fine and mostly sunny conditions over most of the state. Meanwhile, a frontal system approaches from the west, which is expected to bring rain along the southern border on Wednesday, and some showers to much of the state on Thursday, with the chance of thunderstorms over parts of the inland. Forecast for Monday Chance of a shower on the northern coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere after early frost and fog, chiefly about the slopes and ranges. East to southeasterly winds along the coast, tending light and variable inland. Forecast for Tuesday Mostly sunny in the north. Cloud increasing in the south later. Early frost on the slopes and ranges. Northeast to northwesterly winds. Forecast for Wednesday Increasing cloud. Rain developing along the southern border, particularly on and west of the ranges. Mostly sunny and warm in the north. Freshening north to northwest winds, becoming locally strong about the southern ranges ahead of a south to southwest change in the far south. Forecast for Thursday Mostly sunny in the northeast. Isolated showers over much of the remainder, with rain periods about the South West Slopes falling as snow about the Alps. The chance of thunderstorms over the northern inland and the central ranges and slopes.
