MELBOURNE - Aug 28/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A low pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is moving slowly towards New Zealand. Meanwhile a high pressure system, currently over the Bight, will drift eastwards to reach southern NSW by Sunday. The stabilising effect of this high should result in dry conditions across NSW for the next few days apart from the chance of isolated showers along the northern coast. The next cold front appears likely to affect southern NSW Wednesday. Forecast for Sunday The chance of showers along the north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frosts about the ranges and western slopes. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds tending light and variable over much of the inland. Forecast for Monday Mostly sunny. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges. Southeasterly winds along the coast, tending light and variable inland. Forecast for Tuesday Sunny in the north. Cloud increasing in the south later. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges. Northeast to northwesterly winds. Forecast for Wednesday Rain developing over the south, particularly on and west of the ranges. Mostly sunny and warm in the north. Fresh to strong north to northwest winds tending westerly in the southwest. The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:15 am EST Sunday
