MELBOURNE - Aug 27/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Warning Summary at issue time: Gale Wind Warning for coastal waters south of Montague Island. Strong Wind Warning between Montague Island and Crowdy Head. Flood Warning for the Belubula River. For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A low pressure system and associated cold front over the western Tasman Sea are moving slowly away from the New South Wales coast. Meanwhile a high pressure system, currently near Perth, will drift eastwards to be above southeast Australia by late Saturday. During this time winds will ease, while the stabilising effect of this high should see any remaining showers clear up early Saturday. No significant precipitation can be expected from Sunday through to Tuesday as the high remains dominant, although parts of the coastal fringe may see the odd shower. The next cold front appears likely to affect the region mid-week. Forecast for Saturday Isolated clearing showers on western slopes of the ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh at times along the coastal fringe. Forecast for Sunday The chance of showers about the central coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges. South to southeasterly winds tending light and variable over much of the inland. Forecast for Monday Mostly sunny. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges. Southeast to northeasterly winds along the coast, tending light and variable inland. Forecast for Tuesday Sunny in the north. Cloud increasing in the south later. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges. Northeast to northwesterly winds. The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:15 am EST Saturday
