Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 24/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers, mainly on and south of the divide, increasing during the day. Snow above 700 metres. Possible hail and thunder in the south. . Cold and cloudy with fresh west to northwesterly winds, stronger about the coast and ranges.
Forecast for ThursdayScattered showers, falling as snow above 800 metres. Cold and cloudy with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds tending southwesterly later in the west.
Forecast for FridayScattered showers on and south of the divide, with snow above 800 metres, rising to 1200 metres. Isolated showers on the northern plains. Cold and mostly cloudy with fresh to strong southwesterly winds, easing later in the west.
Forecast for SaturdayIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts, with snow above 1200 metres. Cool and mainly cloudy with light to moderate southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.* Calls to 1300 numbers cost around 27.5c incl. GST, higher from mobiles or public phones.
