Australia -- Victoria Weather Update
MELBOURNE - Aug 22/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Forecast for the rest of MondayPatchy light rain over the northwest extending throughout during the day, although little if any reaching East Gippsland. Snowfalls above 1300 metres. Rain clearing from the west later, although showers to follow in the southwest. Cool with moderate to fresh northerly winds tending west to southwesterly later in the west. Forecast for TuesdayScattered showers mainly on and south of the divide, falling as snow above 1200 metres, but lowering to 1000 metres at night. Possible hail and thunder over the southwest during the afternoon and extending along the coast during the evening. Cold and cloudy with fresh to strong northwesterly winds shifting westerly from the west. Forecast for WednesdayScattered showers, mainly on and south of the divide, with snow above 1000 metres. Possible hail and thunder near the coast. Cold and cloudy with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds. Forecast for ThursdayScattered showers mainly on and south of the divide falling as snow above 1000 metres. Cold and cloudy with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.* Calls to 1300 numbers cost around 27.5c incl.
