Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 21/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high over NSW will move to the Tasman Sea as a trough system
approaches from the west. The trough will bring cloud and rain to the
northwest during the day, reaching the northern ranges late in the
day. The rain will then extend to most areas overnight, before
contracting to the northeast during Tuesday as the trough moves to
the Tasman Sea. Isolated shower activity will persist about the
ranges and western slopes . Another cold front   will move through
the state Tuesday/Wednesday with associated showers persisting on the
western slopes of the ranges and redeveloping along the western
Victorian border on Wednesday.
Forecast for Sunday
Early frosts about the ranges and slopes and local morning fog
patches. Rain developing in the northwest with moderate falls likely.
Rain extending eastwards to reach the northern ranges late in the
day. Patchy rain developing over the central inland. North to
northeasterly winds in the west. Variable winds in the east, with
afternoon seabreezes developing along the coast.
Forecast for Monday
Areas of rain,  with moderate falls over the northeastern inland,
contracting northeast during the day.  Rain clearing from the far
southwest, but isolated showers persisting about the western parts of
the Central and Southern Tablelands and adjacent slopes.  Snow
developing above about 1400 metres. North to northwesterly winds,
tending fresh westerly in the west.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers on the western ranges and adjacent slopes, more
scattered in the south. Snow showers lowering to about 1100 metres
during the day. Fine on the coast. Increasing westerly winds becoming
strong and gusty about the southern and central ranges.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern and central
ranges and along the southern  inland border, more scattered on the
southern slopes of the southern ranges and falling as snow above
about 1000 metres. Westerly winds, fresh to strong and gusty in the
south.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 11:20 am EST Sunday
