Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 20/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers on and south of the ranges, more extensive along the west and South Gippsland coasts with the chance of hail and thunder. Only isolated showers over the northern plains. Showers falling as snow above 1000 metres. Cool to cold with moderate to locally fresh westerly winds.
Forecast for SundayIsolated showers in the far southwest and on the dividing range and a little patchy rain developing in the far northwest at night. Local early frost or fog in the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate northwest to northerly winds, fresh in the southwest.
Forecast for MondayPatchy rain gradually extending eastwards and becoming more extensive in the southwest and on the divide. Alpine snowfalls. Cool with moderate to fresh north to northwest wind tending westerly later in the west.
Forecast for Tuesday
Scattered showers mainly on and south of the divide with snow above 1100 metres.
Cold and cloudy with fresh to locally strong westerly winds.
