Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers in the northwest at first. Rain areas extending through eastern and southern areas. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, reaching gale force at times about the Alps. Forecast for ThursdayScattered showers, mostly over southern and mountain areas and snowfalls lowering from 1700 metres in the morning to 800 metres by night. Isolated hail and thunder over the southwest. Cold with fresh to strong northwest wind tending westerly. Forecast for FridayScattered showers mainly about the southwest coast and about the eastern ranges and falling as snow above 700 metres but rising to 1000 metres. Local hail on and south of the ranges. Mostly dry over the northwest plains with only isolated afternoon showers. Cool to cold with fresh westerly winds. Forecast for SaturdayIsolated showers mainly on and south of the ranges contracting to the coast late in the day. Showers falling as snow above 1000 metres. Cool with moderate to locally fresh westerly winds. Forecast for SundayScattered showers extending into western areas late in the day.
