Warning Summary at issue time: Severe Weather Warning for localised damaging winds Wednesday afternoon for the South West Slopes, Southern Tablelands including Alpine areas and the ACT. Sheep Graziers warning for the South West Slopes and Southern Tablelands. Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters south of Smoky Cape. Flood Warning for the Bogan River. For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A high pressure system will pass from east NSW to the Tasman Sea overnight. The fine weather experienced today will be short-lived for many areas as a trough is expected to move through western and southern parts during Wednesday, continuing to the northeast on Thursday. Windy and rainy conditions will accompany this front, with the best falls expected to be along the tablelands and western slopes districts. Some shower activity is likely to linger over the southern inland on Friday and Saturday as another high pressure system drifts across from the west. Forecast for Wednesday Areas of rain developing in western parts of the state during the morning, extending through central and southern districts later in the day while clearing in the far southwest. Isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms possible in the far southwest. Snow developing on the Alpine peaks later. Freshening north to northwest winds, becoming strong and gusty in the south and west, locally reaching gale force later over the southern ranges. Forecast for Thursday Rain areas across the north. Isolated showers over the southern inland and southern ranges, tending more widespread about the southwestern slopes. Snow on the Alps, mainly about the peaks at first. West to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong and gusty at times about the ranges northeast. Forecast for Friday Rain areas in the northeast, clearing. Isolated showers over the ranges and western slopes contracting to the south. Isolated showers developing over the southern inland. Showers falling as snow above 1000m. West to southwest winds, fresh to strong and gusty at times about the ranges. Forecast for Saturday Isolated showers about the southern ranges and slopes and developing over the southern inland in the afternoon. Showers falling as snow about the Alps. Otherwise a mostly sunny day. Light winds in the north tending moderate west to southwesterly in the south, fresh about the ranges. The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:15 am EST Wednesday
