Warning Summary at issue time: Flood Warning for the Paroo, Lachlan and Macquarie Rivers. Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters south of Montague Island. For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A high pressure system is passing over New South Wales today, promoting stable atmospheric conditions with generally light winds. The fine weather will be short-lived for many areas, however, as the next cold front is expected to move through western and southern parts during Wednesday, continuing to the northeast on Thursday. Windy and rainy conditions will accompany this front, with the best falls expected to be along the tablelands and western slopes districts. Some shower activity is likely to linger over the southern inland on Friday as another high pressure system drifts across from the west. Forecast for Tuesday A cool morning with areas of frost and fog. Mostly sunny day. Moderate southwesterly wind about parts of the coast at first, otherwise generally light winds. Forecast for Wednesday Areas of rain developing in western parts of the state during the morning, extending to central and southeastern inland parts later in the day while clearing in the far southwest. Snow developing on the Alpine peaks later. Freshening north to northwest winds, becoming strong and gusty in the south and west. Forecast for Thursday Rain areas across the north. Showers over much of the remainder, clearing from southern parts of the coast and the western inland. Snow on the Alps, mainly about the peaks at first. Northwesterly to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty at times. Forecast for Friday Rain areas in the northeast, clearing. Isolated showers over the southern inland, falling as snow on the Alps. West to southwest winds, gusty along the southern ranges. The next routine forecast will be issued at 11:20 am EST Tuesday
