Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 14/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Strong Wind Warning for NSW all coastal waters for Sunday.
Flood Warning for the Paroo, Castlereagh and Macquarie Rivers.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A low pressure system and trough over the Tasman Sea are moving east.
A high centred over northern New South Wales will weaken and contract
northeastwards today as another low and trough moves towards Bass
Strait. This trough will pass through the state later today and
Sunday bringing further showers. Showers are likely to linger over
the southern inland and over the ranges on Monday as another cold
front moves through the southeast. Another high should move across
the state on overnight Monday in the wake of the front, bringing a
cold frosty morning to inland parts on Tuesday.
Forecast for Saturday evening
Isolated showers over the southern inland. Moderate to fresh
northwest to northwest winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Mostly sunny in the northwest and along the coast. Isolated showers
remainder tending scattered about the western slopes of the southern
and central ranges. Snow on the Alps. Strengthening northwest to
westerly winds turning southwesterly in the west.
Forecast for Monday
Mostly sunny in the northwest and along the coast, partly cloudy
remainder with isolated showers or drizzle along the western slopes
of the ranges and over the southern inland. Fresh west to southwest
winds.
Forecast for Tuesday
Areas of morning frost on the ranges and slopes. Early fog patches.
Mostly sunny. Light winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
Areas of rain developing in the west and extending to central and
southeast inland parts later. Freshening northwest winds.
