MELBOURNE - Aug 13/10 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A pressure ridge over New South Wales is weakening as a cod front with an associated low to the south approaches from the west. The front will move through the west of the state later tomorrow and through the east early Sunday bringing light rain or isolated showers to the inland districts in particular to the western slopes of the ranges. Another front will move across the southeast during Sunday. Behind the trough another high pressure ridge will develop across the state on Monday and showers are expected to clear from the slopes. Forecast for Saturday Isolated showers developing over the west and far southeastern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. North to northwesterly winds, freshening in the west. Dangerous surf conditions on the central and north coasts, hazardous for coastal activities such as swimming, surfing and rock fishing, easing. Forecast for Sunday Mostly sunny in the northwest and along the coast. Isolated showers remainder tending scattered about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Snow on the Alps. Northwest winds turning gusty west to southwesterly. Forecast for Monday Mostly sunny in the northwest and along the coast, partly cloudy remainder with isolated showers or drizzle along the western slopes of the ranges and over the southern inland. West to southwest winds. Forecast for Tuesday Early fog and frost patches. Mostly sunny. Light winds. The next routine forecast will be issued at 11:20 am EST Saturday
