Mixed Week on Lentil Markets

VANCOUVER - Jul 17/10 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note against conflicting news about crop conditions in North America and the supply situation in Turkey.

Delegates attending last week's Canadian Special Crops Association annual meeting in Saskatoon were generally impressed with the potential of this year's lentils crops.

While parts of the growing area are suffering from clear signs of water stress, others have benefitted from ample rainfall, suggesting yields will be at least average.
