Conflicting News in lentil Market

VANCOUVER - Jul 9/10 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished the week's trading little changed against conflicting news about supply prospects for the coming season.

Crops in Canada continue to lag last year in terms of development, with 66% and 30% of Saskatchewan's pulse crops starting the week in the vegetative and flowering stages, respectively, compared to 57% and 40% at the same time last year.

Saskatchewan Agriculture noted development of all crops was behind normal and vary widely in development stages. Crops are showing signs of stress due to the excess moisture; however, crops in areas that received little moisture last week have advanced nicely.
