Easier Finish for Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - Jul 9/10 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a slightly easier note, against improved availability of product from Argentina and greater confidence in the status of North American crops.

This saw the spot market index for U.S. origin beans drop 18 points to 1037 points.

By contrast, the spot grower bid index was eased one point to 961, with processors finding it hard to buy from growers because they are too busy in the fields to participate in markets.

This is not reflected in dealer markets, where the focus is more on the pending crop and the perceived need by processors and exporters to add to their book.
