White Proso Millet Seedings Jump

WASHINGTON - Jun 30/10 - SNS --Proso millet planted area for 2010 is estimated at 385,000 acres, up 35,000 acres from last year's total, according to seeded area estimates released by the USDA today.

Colorado and South Dakota growers increased planted acreage in 2010 by 20,000 acres and 15,000 acres, respectively. Nebraska growers planted 95,000 acres in 2010, equaling the amount planted in 2009.
