Chickpea Markets Ignore Canada

VANCOUVER - Jun 25/10 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were unaffected by indications seeded area in Canada could be higher than initially expected.

In its June update to this year's seeding intentions, Statistics Canada said farmers planned to seed 200,000 acres this year, up from 105,000 last year. The estimates were based on surveys taken between May 25 and June 3.

Unfortunately, farmers were unable to finish seeding this year's crops.
