WASHINGTON - Jun 25/10 - SNS -- Shelled Edible Grade Season to Date Utilization Up 4% from Last Year Peanut Stocks in Commercial Storage Totaled 2.45 Billion Pounds Peanut stocks commercial storage on May 31, 2010 came in at 2.45 billion pounds of equivalent farmer stock, versus 2.76 billion pounds a year ago, reveals the current USDA statistics.

This total includes 1.59 billion pounds of actual farmer stock.

Shelled peanuts on hand totalled 812 million pounds of farmer stock equivalent. Roasting stock totalled 52.4 million pounds.

Shelled peanut stocks totalled 611 million pounds of which 582 million pounds were edible grades and 28.9 million pounds were oil stocks. Edible grade stocks by type included 127 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 433 million pounds of Runners, and 21.6 million pounds of Spanish.

May millings totalled 309 million pounds. Millings by type were 46.0 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 255 million pounds of Runners, and 8.19 million pounds of Spanish.
