Pea Movement Surged in May

VANCOUVER - Jun 1/10 - SNS -- The pace of bulk conventional loadings at Canadian ports improved dramatically in May, with shipments more than quadruple the previous month and well up on year earlier levels, judging from port clearances reported by the Canadian Ports Clearance Association.

Clearances at terminals reporting to the association totalled 218,976 metric tons (MT) of field peas at Vancouver and 1,866 at Thunder Bay.

This compares to 135,646 MT at Vancouver and 5,361 at Thunder Bay during the same month last year.
