Easier Tone in Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - May 14/10 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets were lightly easier in limited trading interest during the past week.

This was clearly reflected in North American markets, where the spot market index for U.S. origin beans finished the week 35 points lower at 1072 points; while the spot grower bid index was unchanged at 1007.

In its weekly review of markets, the USDA noted that new crop markets for major bean classes were modestly discounted to spot.
