Quiet Week on Bean Markets

VANCOUVER - Apr 30/10 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets were relatively quiet during the past week, with a large number of market participants travelling to Australia for the annual CICILS convention in Brisbane.

The spot market index for U.S. origin beans finished the week unchanged at 1117 points; while the spot grower bid index was unchanged at 1007.

Markets were unaffected by the Canadian seeding intentions estimates, which indicated farmers in that country planned to boost bean area from almost 295,000 to 318,000 acres.
