Limited Participation in LentilsVANCOUVER - Apr 30/10 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading under relatively quiet conditions, with farmers busy in their fields and end users assessing needs before the coming harvest. Markets were surprised by the seeding intentions estimates for western Canada, believing that actual seeded area will likely end up higher than the 2.875 million acres farmers say they intend to plant. Spot markets will not be significantly affected by the number because stocks are tight and overall movement is expected to be good through the end of July to nations which observe Ramadan, which starts August 11.
