WASHINGTON - Apr 30/10 - SNS -- Shelled Edible Grade Season to Date Utilization Up 4% from Last Year Peanut Stocks in Commercial Storage Totaled 3.16 Billion Pounds
Peanut stocks commercial storage on March 31, 2010 quantityed to 3.16 billion pounds of equivalent farmer stock, compared to 3.45 billion pounds a year ago, according to the current USDA sector report.
This total includes 2.27 billion pounds of actual farmer stock.
Shelled peanuts on hand totalled 837 million pounds of farmer stock equivalent. Roasting stock totalled 55.2 million pounds.
Shelled peanut stocks totalled 629 million pounds of which 604 million pounds were edible grades and 25.8 million pounds were oil stocks. Edible grade stocks by type included 144 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 432 million pounds of Runners, and 27.4 million pounds of Spanish.
