Sideways Tone in Peas

VANCOUVER - Apr 9/10 - SNS -- Field pea markets maintained their sideways tone through the past week, with grower bids in both the United States little changed.

U.S. growers continue to receive a significant premium for both yellow and green peas over their Canadian counterparts, largely because of the influence of U.S. government buying for shipment as food aid.

This has tended to keep processing capacity relatively booked in the United States, forcing domestic users to pay up to secure product.
