Chickpea Markets Mostly Unchanged
VANCOUVER - Apr 9/10 - SNS -- Chickpea markets finished the week's trading mostly unchanged in seasonally light buying interest.
Australian desi chickpea exporters have been enjoying a good season thus far, with movement to India in the October through February period up 23.7% over last year at 168,894 metric tons (MT).
While movement to Bangladesh showed a similar improvement over last year, shipments to Pakistan sank from demand collapsed from over 56,000 MT to under 1,000. The differences reflect last year's drought patterns.
