U.S. Field Pea Seedings Slipping

WASHINGTON - Mar 31/10 - SNS -- Field peas growers in the United States intend to plant 837,000 acres, down 3% from 2009, according to the USDA's March seeding intentions report.

Idaho and Washington anticipate lower planted acreages this season, while no acreage change is expected in Montana and North Dakota.

Farmers in North Dakota, the largest producing State, intend to plant 490,000 acres this year, while Montana growers plan to plant 240,000 acres.
