WASHINGTON - Mar 26/10 - SNS -- Shelled Edible Grade Season to Date Utilization Up 2% from Last Year Peanut Stocks in Commercial Storage Totaled 3.54 Billion Pounds
Peanut stocks commercial storage on February 28, 2010 quantityed to 3.54 billion pounds of equivalent farmer stock, compared to 3.82 billion pounds a year ago, judging from today's USDA sector report.
This total includes 2.66 billion pounds of actual farmer stock.
Shelled peanuts on hand totalled 834 million pounds of farmer stock equivalent. Roasting stock totalled 51.3 million pounds.
Shelled peanut stocks totalled 627 million pounds of which 603 million pounds were edible grades and 24.1 million pounds were oil stocks. Edible grade stocks by type included 143 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 435 million pounds of Runners, and 24.3 million pounds of Spanish.
