Mexican Bean Crops Seen Rising

VANCOUVER - Mar 19/10 - SNS -- Mexico will likely harvest more beans this year than last, according to the U.S. agricultural attache for the country.

Normal weather patterns in the coming growing season would likely push output 7.1% higher to 1.12 million metric tons (MT) from 1.52 million hectares during the 2010-11 season.

"Official sources state that the main incentive to increase the planted area is the relatively high producer prices," the U.S. agricultural attache said.
