Ag Canada Expects Chickpea Area to RiseVANCOUVER - Jan 29/10 - SNS -- In its latest monthly review of Canadian chickpeas Agriculture Canada's market analysis branch in Winnipeg predicts seeded area could reach 148,000 acres this year. It is important to note this is not an official forecast, nor is it based on actual grower survey. This has the potential for production to total 78,000 MT, versus 76,000 last year. Agriculture Canada pegs exports for 2009-10 at 60,000 MT and is forecasting exports will reach 53,000 in 2010-11.
