and ProcessinWASHINGTON - Jan 28/10 - SNS -- Shelled Edible Grade Season to Date Utilization Up 3% from Last Year Peanut Stocks in Commercial Storage Totaled 3.87 Billion Pounds Peanut stocks commercial storage on December 31, 2009 totalled 3.87 billion pounds of equivalent farmer stock, versus 4.37 billion pounds a year ago, shows today's USDA update. This total includes 3.04 billion pounds of actual farmer stock. Shelled peanuts on hand totalled 785 million pounds of farmer stock equivalent. Roasting stock totalled 49.5 million pounds. Shelled peanut stocks totalled 590 million pounds of which 566 million pounds were edible grades and 24.3 million pounds were oil stocks. Edible grade stocks by type included 124 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 421 million pounds of Runners, and 20.7 million pounds of Spanish.
