USDA Buys 5,610 MT BeansKANSAS CITY - Jan 27/10 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 4,000 metric tons (MT) of dry edible beans for prepositioning at Jacintoport for eventual shipment as food aid. Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 010C, the USDA is buying 5,610 MT of pinto beans packed in 50 kg bags for prepositioning at Jacintoport for eventual shipment as food aid. Under contract 423151-1, the USDA bought 2,510 MT of pinto beans for delivery by truck only to Jacintoport no later than February 28. Under contract 423151-2, the USDA bought 3,100 MT of pinto beans for delivery to Jacintoport no later than March 15, whether by truck or rail.
