Unsettled Mood in Beans

VANCOUVER - Jan 22/10 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week in an unsettled mood despite positive demand news in the United States and Brazil.

During the week, the USDA bought 2,000 metric tons (MT) each of black and pinto beans for prepositioning at Jacintoport during February.

Prices paid on the tender were good, with the USDA paying an average $54.72 per 100 pounds (cwt) on a delivered port basis for the black beans and $39.37 for the pinto beans.
