Firm taryt top Year For Lentils

VANCOUVER - Jan 8/10 - SNS -- North American lentils markets are starting the new calendar year on a relatively firm note, with farmers in both Canada and the United States showing some reluctance to sell product.

Slow sales from growers effectively tightens near term supplies relative to demand, even though ending stocks are expected to rise in both Canada and the United States.

As much as buyers would like to force values lower, as a group, growers have the money to resist markets.
