Improved Demand Supports Spot Peas
VANCOUVER - Feb 14/09 - SNS -- Canadian field pea markets continue to be supported by improved demand from processors and exporters to filling in gaps in their export sales program.
The number of ships nominated to load field peas at Vancouver during the rest of the month stands at seven.
Actual and prospective loadings of peas now exceeds 200,000 metric tons (MT) for February which, if realized, would be a record performance for the month. The previous high for February was set in 2004 at just under 140,000 MT.
