Weekly U.S. Rail Loadings RiseWASHINGTON - Dec 1/05 - SNS -- The number of carloads of grains and oilseeds delivered to U.S. ports for the week ending November 23 rose, according to the USDA's Transportation and Marketing Programs/Transportation Services Branch weekly Grain Transportation Report. Total carloads delivered to major port areas during the week totalled 10,923, up from 9,758 the previous week. This lifted crop year to date deliveries to 433,658 cars, up 15% from the 377,118 cars unloaded during the same period last season. The data reveals interesting shifts in the direction of agricultural exports, with the number of cars entering Mexico up 25,300 at 82,735 so far this year; while shipments to the Pacific Northwest are up around 15,000 at 203,191 cars.
