Anitech Sells Pork Grading Devices to Alberta

TORONTO - May 27/02 - SNS -- Three Anitech PG-100 Pork Grading Probes have been purchased by the Alberta Pork Grading Company (2000) Inc., the pork grading authority for the Province of Alberta, for a pork packing plant in Alberta.

Probes manufactured by Anitech Enterprises Inc. are now used at 35 plants in Canada and Mexico to electronically measure the amount of fat and meat in a pork carcass. This measurement is translated into a grade that forms the basis of payments to pork producers.

Anitech also manufactures the DT-500 Data Collection System for slaughter plants. The DT-500 is a proprietary computer and software system that helps meat packers keep detailed production records on individual carcasses. Data is collected and collated in real time and can be accessed through an internal network or the Internet.

The DT-500 system is installed in 16 beef and pork packing plants in Canada, and is being considered by plants in Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico and the United States.
