General Decline in Weekly Oilseed CrushWINNIPEG - May 3/02 -- STAT -- The Canadian Oilseed Processors Association (COPA) reports weekly crush in that country totalled 30,217 metric tons (MT) of canola and 32,540 MT of soybeans during the week ending May 1. The numbers, as reported to the association by member firms, sank 38.1% from last week's level for canola, while dropping 3.5% on the week for soybean. So far this marketing year, 1,807,399 MT of canola has been crushed, down from 2,408,884 for the same period last year. Soybean crush since the August 1 start of the 2001-02 marketing year totals 1,298,031 MT, up from the 1,274,280 MT crushed during the same period last year.
