ConAgra Donates WebVan Trucks to Food Banks
OMAHA - May 2/02 - SNS -- ConAgra Foods, Inc. donated 31 trucks acquired from the failed dot-com grocer WebVan to food banks and other organizations across the United States today.
ConAgra Foods' Feeding Children Better Foundation awarded the trucks to help food banks and food-rescue organizations:
* accept more donations from local area food retailers
* deliver additional meals to more local Kids Cafes, kids-only after school feeding programs
* distribute more food and products that are difficult to transport such as fresh produce to children and families in need of food assistance
* increase the number of feeding agencies that receive donated food
