Lentil Imports By Turkey Open On Soft Tone

PANAMA - Mar 17/25 - SNS -- Imports of lentils by Turkey sank relative to the previous month in January, official data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) shows.

Imports for the first month of the calendar year totalled 74,240 metric tons (MT), down 53% from 159,158 MT the previous month. The statistics revealed imports is down 34% from the 111,746 MT recorded during the same month last year.

Canada was the number one origin, shipping 31,545 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important shipper supplying 29,989 MT, followed by Russia at 12,204 MT.
