Canada's Lentil Exports Manage Easy Month

PANAMA - Mar 6/25 - SNS -- Shipments of lentils for Canada sank relative to the previous month in January, data from Statistics Canada shows.

Movement for the opening month of the marketing year totalled 129,119 metric tons (MT), down 51% from 262,053 MT the previous month. The data showed export sales is up 26% from the 968,100 MT reported for the same month last year.

Bangladesh was the biggest importer for the month, taking 25,686 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important consumer taking 20,190 MT, followed by Turkey at 9,833 MT.
