PANAMA - Sep 15/23 - SNS -- International lentil makets finished the week's trading on a firmer note, helped by last week's offifil production estimates for both Canada and the United States.
Statistics Canada's second model-based forecast indicates output could slide from 2.3 to 1.54 million metric tons (MT), reflecting a decline in both seeded area and average yields.
By contrast, the USDA reported higher average yields than last season, with the result production was pegged at 259,000 MT from 545,000 acres, compared to 249,000 from 660,000 acres in 2022.
