Firm Week For Lentils
PANAMA - May 26/23 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a relatively firm note in spot shipping positions against fill in buying by processors and exporters.
Disappearance from farms in both Canada and the United States remains relatively strong. Some market participants expect this to be reflected in the seeded area estimates due on June 28 and June 30 for Canada and the United States respectively.
Land in lentils is expected to rise above initial seeding intentions. This is seen as more than likely for Canada because the 2023 seeding intentions report was based on a survey of farmers in December, ignoring delivery opportunities for farmers and price movement between January and March.
