Canada's Chickpea Exports Record Easy Performance
PANAMA - May 4/23 - SNS -- Export shipments of chickpeas for Canada were slightly lower, falling relative to the previous month in March, official data from Statistics Canada shows.
Total export sales for the month reached 25,059 metric tons (MT), down 11% from the previous month's total of 28,106. So far exports have amounted to 166,951 MT, up from 83,691 during the last marketing year.
The most recent movement data showed United States was biggest buyer, buying 7,995 MT. Turkey was the second most important consumer taking 5,975 MT, followed by Italy at 2,039 MT.
