WASHINGTON - Dec 31/23 - SNS -- U.S. growers intend to plant 10.6 million acres of spring wheat other than durum, down 2% from 2022, according to the USDA's seeding intentions estimates.
If realized this level of other spring wheat acreage would be the lowest since 1972. Of this total, about 9.95 million acres are expected to be Hard Red Spring wheat. Planted area in North Dakota, the largest spring wheat-producing State, is estimated at 5.20 million acres, down 2% from last year.
