Turkey's Red Lentil Imports Open On Easy Note

PANAMA - Mar 28/23 - SNS -- Imports of red lentils for Turkey were well down, plunging versus the previous month in January, trade data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) reports.

Imports during the first month of the calendar year totalled 28,978 metric tons (MT), down 30% from 41,322 MT the previous month. The statistics showed imports is down 37% from the 46,136 MT reported for the same month last year.

Canada was the biggest exporter, shipping 12,097 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important export origin supplying 11,409 MT, followed by Russia at 5,448 MT.
