Lentils Find Firm Footing

PANAMA - Mar 24/23 - SNS -- International lentil markets continued to advance during the past week against expectations of good demand during the balance of the marketing year and logistical problems affecting Australia's competitive posture.

Green lentils showed the most strength, advancing in both the United States and Canada in both grower and inter-dealer markets.

Red lentils were also firmer, but continue to be affected by worries about this summer's carry over in Canada will be larger than currently forecast. Those stem from worries export projections may not be reached, even though shipments so far this season have been relatively strong.
