Chickpeas Maintain Sideways Posture
PANAMA - Mar 10/23 - SNS -- International chickpea markets remain largely unchanged on a week to week basis, with markets settled into a trading range for most origins.
The only news affecting export markets was the reduction in the size of Australia's chickpea harvest from 595,000 to 541,000 metric tons (MT, according to the latest production estimates from ABARES.
The country grows mainly desi chickpeas. Output is down from the 1.062 million MT produced last year, reflecting the impact of a sharp jump in residual stocks on grower interest in the crop.
